We want to preserve our green spaces and build better houses: those that are truly affordable and energy neutral. We will work hard to ensure that new developments do not damage our communities and that infrastructure is in place before building starts.

Liberal Democrats will:

• eradicate homelessness by investing in temporary housing;
• invest in genuinely affordable homes for local people;
• encourage zero carbon standard for all new homes;
• promote eco and alternative housing opportunities;
• promote 35 per cent affordable housing for local people.

In Practice

All your current Liberal Democrat Councillors have been working with their local communities on the new local plan for housing.  Many communities are unhappy about the way the plan is designed and the lack of infrastructure to support the proposed new homes.
