David is a consultant landscape architect who has lived in the ward for the last 25 years. He has worked for local and central government departments, as well as the private sector during his career.
His work has included working with farmers on the South Downs, and promoting environmental schemes and benefits through his work.
He and his wife Lynnette have two sons who both attended the local C of E primary school.
David’s priority for the Council will be the Environment. He is a committed environmentalist which is why he is standing for the Liberal Democrats.
He is firmly of the opinion that local voters care passionately about their environment, and has the experience to ensure that the environment is brought to the forefront of local council policies.
He also believes that voters will not have been convinced by the cynical ‘greenwash’ of other political parties, or their staged environmental stunts.
He thinks that local government should be demonstrating an exemplary approach to the issue of climate change and global warming. Even if you don’t accept that burning fossil fuels contributes to the problem, we still need to develop alternatives for when the oil runs out.

Local government works best when it is influenced by the people it serves. The Lib Dems believe people should be able to shape their local council’s priorities. That’s why we have a record of putting people first. But there is always more to do.
I'm keen to know what more we can do to make our area an even better place to live. Please do take a few minutes to complete this survey today and let us know your views.
